Beaming Restorations is a family-run business led by father-and-son team John and Matt, bringing together decades of experience, specialist knowledge, and a shared passion for restoring the character of properties across the South West and Oxfordshire.
The business was founded by John over 15 years ago, following a career in the restoration industry. Frustrated by the mess and damage often caused by traditional blasting techniques, John developed his own gentler, low-pressure dry-cleaning system — designed to lift away paint, varnish and grime without harming the underlying surfaces. The results were so effective that Beaming Restorations was born, offering a cleaner, more respectful alternative to conventional methods.
A few years later, his son Matt joined the business, bringing fresh energy and a shared dedication to high standards. Based in Devon while John remains in Somerset, the two now cover a wide area including Oxfordshire and the South West, working on everything from barn conversions and historic cottages to fireplaces, stone walls and timber frames.
Matt’s love for restoration doesn’t stop at buildings — in his spare time, he owns and maintains a vintage steam engine, a hands-on passion that reflects the same values of heritage, precision, and care that define the business.
